
A QuickSelect option is available, which lessens the number of taps and swipes required to access a specific menu. The layout has been streamlined, and now users may choose the function they want without delving into a sub-menu, thanks to its new zero-layer design. The new BMW iDrive infotainment system is said to run on BMW Operating System 8.5 and be based on Linux, using the BMW Curved Display. With the new iDrive update, users can rearrange the different icons on the system's home screen, which is still based on Linux and has changeable visuals, just as on a computer or smartphone.

In July of this year, the BMW 7-series, iX, i4, X5, X6, X7, and XM will be some of the first vehicles to receive the updated iDrive with OS 8.5.
